FAQ's
- How much is the pay? Each 30 minute visit pays $12. With a little drive time in between visits we estimate hourly pay is roughly $22/hr.
- How many 30 minute visits do I do? We create efficient routes which vary from 3 visits in a row to 5 depending on how busy we are.
- How many days a week do I have to work? This is entirely up to you. We have some pet sitters that can only work a couple of days per week, and we have pet sitters that work 5 days a week. We do ask that you work at least 2 Friday nights and 1 Saturday night every month, so nobody has to work EVERY weekend. We are advocates of work/life balance.
- What times do I work? We are currently hiring for nights. This is 7 pm until about 9 pm. Our goal is to always have our sitters back at their homes before 10 pm.
- Do you work around other jobs? Yes we understand that we are a part time job, and we are fully prepared to work around your personal life and full time job.
- Is training paid? Yes we offer on the job training at your full rate of pay.
- How often do I get paid? That is entirely up to you. You can submit for payment weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly. We will use direct deposit and in most cases you will be paid within 48 hours.
- How much can I make weekly? Depending on your availability we have sitters ranging from $150 to $600 per week. It is all a matter of your availability.
- Are there ever any customer tips? Yes! Customer tips are paid out quarterly. The amount your receive is based on your involvement in the job that tipped. If 2 people did equal amount of visits at a home and that customer tipped $30 then each sitter would receive $15. The company does not keep any gratuity ever.
- How far in advance will I know my schedule? We make schedules a month in advance, and if we need extra help we verify your availability FIRST and never just assign a new workday to you.
- Do you offer a benefits package? We do not offer a traditional benefits package due to being a small family owned business staffed by part time pet sitters, but there are still benefits for working with us! No dress code, no boring office setting, no people to deal with, extremely reduced pet sitting costs for your own pets, family owned and we care about the people that work for us, and easy to get time off.
- Do I have to deal with customers? NO. Never. All customer interactions are handled by the owner. Your responsibilities will only include caring for the animals which makes this way less stressful than if you were doing this on your own.
- How much driving do I do? We strive to make sure that our routes are efficient. We want this to be profitable for everyone. Once you get to your first stop on average the drive time is less than 5 minutes to your next stop. There are some exceptions to this, but not often. There are many times that you will even have 2 stops in the same neighborhood resulting in drive time of less than a minute.
- Where all will I be traveling to? Our business began in Propser, and that is our largest share of customers. However over the past 13 years we have branched out. We have divided our service area in to 2 sections. Prosper/Celina and Little Elm/Aubrey. If you are working in Prosper/Celina for your route, ideally we would have a different pet sitter handle little elm/aubrey. This keeps us efficient and maximizes your income by not having your drive all over our service area back and forth.
- How old do I need to be? 18 years of age or older.
- Do you do background checks? Yes, due to the nature of our business entering peoples homes we must ensure a clean federal, state, and local background check.
- Can I bring my partner or child? No. There are many liabilities involved in bringing any unauthorized people in to customers homes.
- Are you insured? Yes, if an accident happens at a home (such as breaking something) the company will work out the details with the customer on how to make it right. If the accident is substantial enough then an insurance claim will be filed.
- Is my mileage tax deductible? It is! Along with any purchases you make to do your pet sitting job more effectively. Save the receipts for tax time!
